We built 2 houses for 2 single moms (Deborah VanName and son, Chance; Patricia Lopez and daughter, Marjorie) at 223 and 225 E 13th St, in Fayetteville. Jan Judy was the project chair. Eva Kultermann was the contractor overseeing construction. Eva has lots of construction experience, has taught at the U of A Architecture School and is now at ITT in Chicago.
We did a women build in 1998 and had over 587 women involved. We can accommodate more with the two houses under construction. There is a $25 registration fee to cover building materials and a Jane t-shirt. Eva Madison scheduled volunteers. We scheduled some workshops. Lowe’s is a national partner with Women Build and conducted the workshops in their stores.
