HOUSE DEDICATIONS:

Watch for dedications in early 2006 for 221 E 13th, Fayetteville (Belinda Rabel and her 3 girls) and Gary & Linda Denzer and their 3 children.

APOSTLES BUILD:

Biblically based on Jesus’ 12 apostles, HFH-I has started and exciting program for faiths of all sizes to join together to build a house(s). By “buying” a share of the build, it gives the opportunity for smaller denominations to join in in helping a family own a home. Each share if $4,500. A congregation can support one or more shares. Several smaller denominations can join together to support a share. This approach not only gets the involvement of everyone but also helps another family to purchase and move into a home. The home(s) will be started in June 2006 and completed in September 2006 with the house dedication during Building on Faith Week.

AMERICA BUILDS ON THE MALL:

HFH-WC was selected as one of the two Arkansas affiliates to send a representative to an all paid transportation and lodging to assist in the America Builds on The Mall project in Washington, DC. 51 houses (one representing each state and the District of Columbia) were framed in one week on The Mall. The houses were taken apart in sections and trucked to locations in the hurricane areas to be reassembled. Robert Melton, Habitat's builder, represented the HFH-WC affiliate. His expertise was well used the day he helped build. A Fayetteville connection was a member of the Arkansas congressional delegation, Ted Serafini, who also helped that day. Houses for Hawaii and Iowa were also framed that day.
